This is one of my new paintings, which will be part of my show at Gallery19, opening tomorrow!In the Mexica or Aztec culture, Xochihua, Owner of Flowers, was the name given to gay men. For this culture, flowers were a sign of femininity and beauty.
In this painting, two Xochihua men have a moment of love together.
The phrase in Nahuatl language, “Ye Ocuepon in Xochihua”, means “The Xochihua has Blossomed”
